My new calendar

This time of year is special to me as it's when I take the opportunity to look back at the photos I've captured over the year and choose which ones to include in my yearly pictorial calendar.

Once again this year, a calendar showcasing photos from various locations in the Mackay region will be produced, capturing moments from our travels. We take pleasure in discovering new spots in the area, and there are still some places left for us to explore that might make it into the next calendar.

The reason I selected this image of Bucasia Beach for the calendar cover is due to the sun's reflection on the serene blue water. Taken early in the day, the low sun created a stunning effect on the water, making it a truly beautiful moment at the beach.

Aside from the beaches and islands, there are also stunning gorges, waterfalls, rainforest trails, and mountains waiting to be discovered in and around Mackay. This photo captures the renowned and beloved Finch Hatton Gorge, showcasing the exquisite Araluen Waterfall.

Being a photographer, I have a strong appreciation for capturing the beauty of sunrise and sunset through my lens. These moments provide a serene opportunity to witness the captivating transformation of colors and shapes in the sky. My visit to Sunset Bay at Eimeo was highly anticipated, and it lived up to all my expectations.

If you are interested, you can see all the images selected for the calendar on my website and buy a copy from the store. I have already begun planning my 2026 calendar and have a fantastic list of images I want to capture. Given how quickly this year has passed, I will have that calendar ready in no time.
